Setting lore · Mika

The Emerald Dream is a vast spiritual realm associated with Life, nature, growth, and the natural world. The regions known to Azeroth’s mortals and watched over by the Green Dragonflight are not necessarily the whole realm.

Beyond the familiar Dream lie regions associated with the Fey. Mortals may call them the Feywild; the Fey may simply consider them part of the Dreaming. These Fey Realms exist within an expanded understanding of the Emerald Dream, rather than as a completely separate cosmic realm. Their exact nature, geography, and boundaries remain open to interpretation.

The Fey are a broad collection of supernatural peoples, spirits, creatures, and beings associated with the Dream and the natural world, rather than a single race. Their appearances, origins, cultures, and relationships with the Courts vary. Some belong to Courts; others live independently. Known peoples include Faeries, Huldufólk, Changelings, Fairies, and other independent Fey peoples and creatures.

The Summer, Autumn, and Nightmare Courts belong to the Fey regions of the Emerald Dream. The Winter Court belongs to Ardenweald within the Shadowlands. The Emerald Dream and Ardenweald are separate realms, connected through the broader cycle of Life, Death, and Rebirth.
